Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Senior Architectural Project Manager for immediate employment for the Moffett Field office. AECOM is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:

Plan Check and Permitting:

  • Chair client Permit Review Board meetings as Plan Check Manager for building code compliance.

  • Manage the assignment, distribution, tracking, and disposition of building permit applications for all permit board disciplines.

  • Review building permit applications for compliance with California Building Codes and NASA Ames standards.

  • Provide code interpretations.

  • Conducts field visits to project sites as needed.

  • Thorough knowledge of California Building Code and Accessibility requirements are required.

  • Track and review permit reviews of all the permit review disciplines. Ensure that permit reviews are completed on time and delivered back to the applicant within the specified time limits.

Ability to lead Projects and Teams:

  • Projects include, and are not limited to:

  • Feasibility/cost estimate studies.

  • Retrieve archive engineering/architectural documents from document archives.

  • Roof assessment and roof replacement projects.

  • Disabled access improvement projects.

  • Office and lab remodeling projects.

  • Provide architectural support to AECOM engineers as needed.

  • Review engineering drawings for architectural components and coordination. Provide interdisciplinary coordination of design documents.

  • Provide review of RFIs and material submittals for projects in construction, perform field visits for compliance with contract documents, assess potential construction contractor change orders and other support as needed during construction.

  • Ensures completion of project closeout activities.

  • Ability to fast track projects as needed by client.

Minimum Requirements

  • 10+ years professional experience.

  • Registered Architect (RA) with a significant background in facilities architecture.

  • Experienced with performing California Building Code plan check reviews and with current California and ADA requirements for accessibility for persons with disabilities.

  • Experienced in roofing, building rehabilitation, design of systems furniture office layouts, existing building as-built documentation, pre-engineered buildings, and historic preservation.

  • Experienced on all phases of design and construction. Position will oversee design and construction administration duties of architectural team as well as manage projects assigned to them.

  • Experienced with Design Build.

  • Implement Quality Assurance on all deliverables from the architectural team.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must. Ability to make presentations to team and client.

  • Proficiency with Autodesk's AutoCAD and Revit design software.

  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project is expected.

  • Can edit and write specifications, architectural policies and procedures, estimate design fees and construction support services costs

  • Experience in managing people and in project management of small to medium multi-discipline design projects and in construction administration (field visits, reviewing submittals and RFIs) is required.

  • Proficiency in project management and managing cost and schedule on projects.

  • Ability to forecast team workload and manage utilization of team.

  • Due to the nature and location of the work, US Citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A LEED Accredited Professional is much preferred.

  • Federal experience is a plus.

  • Previous work in a dynamic multi-disciplinary setting will be very helpful.
