The Sales Planning Manager supports the Americas Publishing Organization (APO) and the broader organization with planning efforts and channel pricing analysis to sell our games at multiple accounts in North America. Reporting to the Sr. Manager of Account Planning & Pricing, this individual is adept at building relationships with internal account managers and external customers and is able to discern actionable insights from data analysis.

What a Sales Planning Manager does at EA:

  • Lead forecasting efforts for key retailers like Amazon, Best Buy, Gamestop, Target, or Wal-Mart.Develop customer level sell-in, sell-through, pricing, and promotional forecasts (base and lift) in Oracle Demantra Demand Management.

  • Use the Demantra statistical engine to support your forecasting methodology and rational.

  • Keep current sales ladder plans on a weekly basis at the item level across product/platform categories. Review demand forecasts and adjust to tie to sales trends using both internal data, and pricing/marketing roadmaps.

  • Continually measure accuracy and aim to consistently improve on forecast quality though the strength of communication and developing competency.

  • Partner with Demand Planning and Account Managers to provide timely and accurate presell, Day 1, and weekly forecasts for each revenue-generating title for you accounts.

  • Perform ad hoc analysis for major sales initiatives and programs. This often involves starting with a fairly undefined problem, identifying trends and issues, synthesizing and reporting the results.

  • Measure, analyze and report results to support informed, fact-based business decisions which drive improved performance and results across multiple accounts

  • Support North American pricing activity by collaborating with Account Managers on planned activity, produce and maintain key pricing reports, and engage in ad hoc analyses that support pricing strategy.

  • Lead pricing projects with internal partners that help support lifecycle price planning and associated unit/revenue forecasts.

  • Build and implement sales analytics and business intelligence which will enable the sales organization to successfully execute on selling strategies, build greater customer intimacy, and achieve sales goals.

Technical Skills

  • Exceptionalin Excel spreadsheet and report creation. Define, refine and automate our systems / processes / templates that will allow us to understand the layers of business, market environments, and competitor landscapes in which we operate and compete more efficiently and effectively.

  • Develop sales leadership dashboards (Tableau or like tool), PPT presentations, etc., to communicate results in a succinct, easy-to-understand manner, to all levels of the organization.

  • Experience in Oracle/SAP Value supply chain suite applications such as Oracle Demantra, Retail Signal, Promotional Trade Planning (PTP), or comparable applications greatly preferred.

Performance Skills

  • Develop professional relationships and network effectively throughout the organization – especially with account managers, demand planning, marketing partners, and retail account customers.

  • Work cross-functionally in a heavily matrixed environment and garner allies and resources to accomplish objectives.

  • Conscientious: able to prioritize, meet deadlines, organize, and demonstrate analytical skills and follow-through.Design resolutions to complex challenges that require the frequent use of creativity.

  • Partner with and clearly communicate tools and insights to the Account Managers, Demand Planners, and other business units.Collegial, proactive attitude, ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment is essential.

  • Strong knowledge of retail sales cycles and an ability to provide tools for physical and digital product and promotional capture.


  • Complexity -Required to identify and obtain creative yet practical solutions to diverse and complex issues affecting the usage or integrity of the data and function of systems. Must contend with highly complex issues ranging from solutions requiring personal soft skills and problem solving.

  • Impact -Will have frequent contact with outside customers and functional peer groups at Management levels. Required to communicate organizational and functional strategy with specific vendors to maximize deliverables.

  • Conditions -Position is required to work regular and predictable weekly business hours with minimal to moderate travel no more than a few times a year.


  • 4-7 years of related work experience demonstrating account management leadership.

  • Degree from a four-year college/university in Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field.

  • MBA Preferred
